The Center
A Permanent Home for Living Indigenous Knowledge
Xochiquetzal Council is working toward establishing a permanent community center in New Jersey where Indigenous knowledge, cultural traditions, healing practices, and community care can be lived, shared, and carried forward.
The Center will be a place where families, elders, youth, practitioners, and community members can gather, learn, heal, organize, and strengthen relationships across generations.
It will bring together the work we are already building while creating the infrastructure needed for that work to grow and continue for generations to come.
The Center will provide space for:
Birth & Postpartum Care
Culturally grounded support for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.
Doula Training
Education and training for community-based Indigenous and ancestral doulas.
Temazcal
Traditional healing practices rooted in ancestral knowledge and ceremony.
Danza
Indigenous dance, cultural practice, ceremony, and intergenerational learning.
Ceremonies
Spaces for cultural and spiritual practices that strengthen connection and community.
Women's & Men's Circles
Gatherings for reflection, knowledge-sharing, healing, and mutual support.
Youth Programs
Opportunities for younger generations to learn, participate, and carry cultural knowledge forward.
Herbalism
Education and community practice connected to traditional plant knowledge and ancestral approaches to wellness.
Community Education
Workshops, trainings, and opportunities to share knowledge across generations.
Retreats
Immersive spaces for learning, healing, cultural connection, and community building.
Community Organizing
A physical place where community members can gather, build relationships, identify shared needs, and create collective solutions.

New Jersey is where we are building our permanent home and strengthening our organizational infrastructure.
At the same time, our community and relationships extend beyond state lines. Many of the families, practitioners, and community members who have shaped Xochiquetzal's work are connected to New York and the broader region.
We are not leaving those relationships behind.
We are building a strong home in New Jersey from which we can continue nurturing the communities and relationships that have been part of our work for years.
The Center will be rooted in New Jersey, while remaining connected to the wider regional community.
Building for Generations
The Center is more than a building.
It is an investment in cultural continuity, community care, leadership, and the future of Indigenous knowledge.
We are building a place where what has been carried by our ancestors can continue to be practiced, taught, and carried forward by future generations.
